Sergio Ramos posts picture with Adidas boots

After a decade of wearing Nike, Sergio Ramos ended his sponsorship with them in September. Nike apparently offered him a contract renewal of 1.5 Million Euros which he felt was too low and opened himself up to other opportunities.

He recently posted a picture on Instagram of him wearing Adidas football boots while training. New Balance, Puma and Under Armour were also interested in a potential business relationship.

Ramos is infamous for his “put anything on the line” mentality, having received 26 red cards over the course of a glittering career that has brought him five La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, four Spanish Super Cups, four Champions Leagues, three European Super Cups, four Club World Cups, one U19 European Championship, two European Championships and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

He is a definite asset to all sporting brands because he is, no doubt, a household name that many young defenders can only aspire to be like. Various sources are saying different things about the state of this deal with Onefootball claiming that he is yet to decide and AS.com reporting that he has already agreed terms with Adidas. The German sportswear company already has a long-term deal with Real Madrid so we can easily see this deal coming to fruition. Nevertheless, we think this deal can be beneficial for both parties because of the wide reach that Adidas provides as well as the countless Ramos fans out there that he can bring to the table.
